I’ve always had a love for reading but over the past few years I’ve invested into books dealing with personal growth and lets just say I’ve started a collection. Each one of these books have a significant amount of quotes and lessons that I will forever stick by. If you do purchase any of these I hope they help guide you along your beautiful journey.
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
If you’re looking to start a new chapter in your life this book is a MUST read. Learning about the four agreements is one thing but actually applying them to your life is the real challenge. Ever since the beginning we have been held to certain expectations on how to go about life. However there comes a time where we may start to wonder if the life we’re living is truly correct. This book encourages you to break out of this self-limiting cycle and provides you with the steps needed in order to achieve a life with true freedom and peace of mind.
Ceremony by Brianna West
Learning how to carry myself with confidence is one of my biggest accomplishments. ‘Ceremony’ helps rekindle parts of yourself that you may have put on the back-burner. We tend to disregard the things we want to pursue in fear of what society may think; but in doing this we’re only hurting and neglecting our truest selves. While reading you are reminded of your potential and how much more you could posses if you put your fear aside and start living for yourself. You also must remember that you may not be successful your first try and that is okay. When something doesn’t work out do not beat yourself up over it; look at it as a lesson and move forward with pride knowing that you at least tried.
The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz
This author has nothing but bestsellers in my book. This read takes you through the tough realities we face when we decide to give people a role in our individual story. When someone becomes a part of our life we put our all into them and expect them to carry the weight, but once they decide to let it go we plummet. This is the result of putting a person in charge of our own happiness. It’s so important to handle and cherish your own love and joy. After reading you’ll be aware of the toxic cloud everyone is living under but this time you won’t be playing a part; you’ll be watching from above and hopefully teaching.
A Gentle Reminder by Bianca Sparacino
The back of this book describes itself perfectly, “for the deep feelers”. ‘A gentle reminder’ has taught me one of the hardest lessons a person has to learn; it is okay to feel emotions it’s simply human. We live in a generation that romanticizes the idea of turning “heartless” when hurt by someone or something instead of putting in the work to heal their wounded parts. Throughout life you’re going to endure pain more than you may like which is why it’s important to learn the three steps. Feel it, sit with it, and the most important one…let it go.
